Bride slammed for ‘beige wedding’ after telling guests what colours they could wear to ceremony – but was she right?

A bride has been criticized for dictating what colors guests should wear on her special day and calling her wedding ‘beige’.

Betti Adams from Florida detailed the run-up to her wedding on Instagram, including her homemade invitations.

But not everyone was happy to see that the bride-to-be included dressing instructions for her guests – with attendees even being asked to don certain outfits that matched their color scheme.

The invites shared a photo of her husband softly painting four colors, including light pink and various shades of brown and black, and instructed guests on what to wear to match the theme.

The bride-to-be explained why her fiancé had to hand-paint each card, revealing that ‘no printer’ could capture their color scheme accurately enough.

However, the now viral video, which has been viewed more than 9.1 million times, has not been well received by many online.

Several fierce critics flooded her comments section, calling the bride and her wedding “sad” and “beige.”

“If you can’t tolerate the margin of error at the printer, how are you going to respond when someone’s dress fits well, but doesn’t match exactly?”

A second wrote: ‘So it’s not just sad beige mums that are a big deal these days, but sad beige weddings too?’

“It’s rude to expect people to spend money on new outfits for your wedding color scheme,” said a third.

One furious viewer wrote: ‘This is so annoying your wedding will be bloody awful.’

One woman added: ‘People need to walk out more, who cares what your guests wear to your wedding?

“I hope I’ll put as much effort into making the wedding fun for the guests as I do checking out the tan they’re wearing,” another joked.

‘The trend of telling people what to wear must stop.

“People who attend your wedding are not puppets for your photos,” said one onlooker.

“I hope people don’t want to be there for that.”

According to news.com.au, the bride defended herself against the backlash, reasoning that the neutral tones were her low-key colors.

She added: “I didn’t tell anyone to buy anything. We wanted our guests to match the colors of the wedding.”

Several people came to the bride’s defense, with many pointing out that color schemes have long been an integral part of most weddings.

The bride-to-be shared a video with instructions for the color scheme for her guests’ clothes, explaining that there was “no single printer” that could accurately capture the colors

People flooded the comments to criticize the bride for her ‘controlling’ invites, with one person joking: ‘I just didn’t want to come’

“Wedding color schemes have been around for so long why is everyone so confused,” one user exclaimed.

Another wrote sarcastically: ‘Oh no, a woman does what she wants on her own wedding day.’

‘The comments on this post are so hateful. She pays to entertain her guests, she has a vision, she tries to bring it to life, and it looks cute!’

Others admired her color scheme, writing: ‘Omg I love the color options. I literally have something in every color.”

A second chimed in: ‘Is this so they can match their outfits directly to them?! You’re so smart.’
