A bride has left her mother in tears after excluding her entire family from her wedding in Tuscany – including her own parents – because she wanted to keep it ‘very small’.
Kayla, from Houston, Texas, made the shocking revelation on a recent episode of TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress.
She explained how she and Anthony Travalent would tie the knot at Italian venue Agriturismo Macinello in May.
But Kayla said she couldn’t invite her mom “because of the snowball effect of everyone else coming.”

Kayla arrived at the Kleinfeld store with her mother, stepmother and sister before walking the scene of her picturesque wedding.
Advisor Lisa exuded enthusiasm about the plans, telling the bride’s family: “You must be so excited to be going to Italy.”
But mother Danyelle shockingly replied: “We’re not going with her.”
‘She’s going to Italy. She’s getting married. But she’s coming back to Houston for a reception with the whole family.”
It was then revealed that none of the bride’s family, including the three women present, would be in attendance.
Attempting to defend the decision, Kayla said: “We’re having a very, very small ceremony. And we couldn’t take the whole family with us.’
Her mother responded, “I kept telling her that I can’t even imagine going to sleep at night and thinking that my daughter is getting married and I won’t be there.”
Danyelle later fought back tears as she continued, “It’s very heartbreaking that my first daughter is getting married, and the moment she’s there and she looks Anthony in the face and says ‘Yes,’ I won’t be there.” I just feel like I can’t miss it.’
Her mother said, “I kept telling her that I can’t even imagine going to sleep at night and thinking that my daughter is getting married and I won’t be there.”
Despite the obvious upset, Kayla was unaffected and refuted: ‘It just became a snowball, snowball, snowball’
Despite the obvious upset, Kayla countered, “It just snowballed, snowballed, snowballed.
‘If you take one, you take fifty and it becomes something really big.
“And so I felt like keeping it very small and intimate was the best way for us to get what we really wanted out of our wedding.”
She revealed that the invited guests were just the bridesmaid and best man.
‘My mother has had a hard time with the fact that she will not be at the ceremony in Tuscany because she is injured.
“I’ve been trying to explain to everyone, including my mom, that we’re going to have a full family reception at home in Houston.
“And we’ll make it up to you,” she admitted.
Her mother, however, was persistent and insisted, “I would just really like to be with you.” And I…I mean, my daughter is getting married.”
But it seems that despite the pleas, Kayla wasn’t convinced as she concluded, “It’s not that I don’t want her to come.”
‘Of course, of course I want her to come. It’s just the snowball effect of everyone else coming.”
