“(There were) actually two women walking, who seemed to already have weapons on hand, a red commodore quickly stopped and they were clearly known to each other.
“The guys looking for a man, things got heated, it looked like the red shirt may have pushed the woman before she threw what sounded like a rock, you can hear the impact as it hit them both.”
The identities of those involved in the roadside accident remain unknown.
Queensland Police said they are aware of the situation and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
‘No one has been charged. Anyone with information or views on the incident is urged to contact police,” a spokesperson said.
Bribie Island is 34 km long and in some places only 8 km wide. It is the only island off the coast of Queensland that is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
