Brian Cox channels his inner Logan Roy and looks dapper in a chequered suit

Brian Cox cut a smart figure while attending the Series Mania Festival in Lille, Hauts-de-France, with his wife Nicole Ansari-Cox on Friday.

The Scottish actor, 76, looked dapper in a navy and red checkered suit as he arrived on the purple carpet with his wife Nicole, 54, ahead of the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, Nicole looked effortlessly chic when she donned a champagne midi dress for the evening.

She further accessorized the glamorous ensemble with a floral belt and a pair of diamond drop earrings.

To finish off the glam look, she styled her brunette locks in loose waves and donned wet makeup and a bold red lip.

Nicole, best known for her work on the German crime series Tatort, took the opportunity to snap some photos with her husband before the event.

At one point, the actress was seen making a powerful statement as she posed with her back to the cameras to display the words on her pink satin scarf.

Brian, who was next to her at the time, took the opportunity to hold up one side of his wife’s scarf so the cameras could get a clear shot.

And the powerful scarf read ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ in support of the women of Iran in rebellion.

Emmanuelle Béart, 59, was also seen posing up a storm at the opening ceremony.

The blonde beauty looked incredibly stylish as she donned a bold red bespoke suit for the event.

She also opted to pair the suit with a smart button-down shirt and accessorized the look with a layer of gold necklaces and elegant earrings.

She completed the chic ensemble by styling her hair in a loose hairstyle and donned a sparkly makeup look for the evening.

Also in attendance were Stéphane Freiss, 62, and Florence Loiret Caille, 47, and the couple were beaming as they chatted ahead of the event.

Stéphane donned a casual ensemble consisting of a sleek dark blue shirt, black blazer, and a pair of light wash denim jeans for the event.

Meanwhile, Florence opted for a black and white leather ensemble consisting of a black blazer, a plain white shirt, a loose tie, and a pair of skinny leather pants.

The festival’s opening ceremony comes after Brian recently spoke about the upcoming fourth and final season of Succession.

Last month, series creator Jesse Armstrong announced that the upcoming season of the Emmy-winning HBO drama would be its last, and Brian was totally on board with Jesse’s decision.

During his interview with VarietyBrian seemed to praise Jesse for his decision to end the series saying, “He’s very disciplined in that way, and he’s also very British in that way.”

However, he also channeled his inner Logan Roy during the interview when he seemed to take a dig at his co-star Jeremy Strong, 44.

The Scottish actor said: “The American inclination is to take all it’s worth.”

And she despises another American convention: the method acting to which her co-star Jeremy, who plays Kendall Roy, is so fiercely committed.

Despite accepting that it was time to end the series, Brian said he would miss it, adding, “I will miss the cast.” I will miss the atmosphere and I will miss the bonhomie.

The star also admitted that he would miss playing Logan when asked by the outlet, “Logan, I’ll probably miss a little bit.” But up and forward.

Brian also clarified that he wouldn’t miss the back-and-forth discussions about Jeremy’s method acting technique.

Brian, who loathes the practice, mentioned it in his 2021 memoir Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, writing that there’s “a certain amount of pain at the root of Jeremy.”

However, he was not criticizing Jeremy, instead calling him “a wonderful actor”.

He continued: ‘It’s really a culture shock. I can’t stand all that American bullshit. I’m sorry. All that kind of ‘I think, therefore I feel’.

‘Just do the work. Don’t identify yourself,” he said, referring to legendary Method actor Daniel Day Lewis.

HBO has officially confirmed that the fourth season of Succession will return on March 26, 2023.

And the next season will consist of 10 episodes, which is one more episode than the third season.
