Brewers ROUT Mets for a second straight game as New York go 9-0 for 17th loss in last 20 games in Milwaukee

Rowdy Tellez, Brian Anderson and Garrett Mitchell hit consecutive home runs off Max Scherzer in the sixth inning, and Wade Miley earned his 100th career win as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the New York Mets 9–0 on Tuesday night.

Anderson and Mitchell also hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh off reliever Brooks Raley.

The lightning-fast Anderson, who also homered in Monday’s 10-0 victory over the Mets, had a two-run double in the first against Scherzer (1-1) and finished with six RBI’s.

Miley, who started only eight games last season for the Chicago Cubs due to elbow and shoulder problems, made his season debut for the Brewers.

He started 16 games for Milwaukee in 2018, compiling a 5-2 record. The 36-year-old lefty rejoined the Brewers in January when he signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with a mutual option for 2024.

Miley (1-0) threw six sharp innings and gave up five hits. He struckout three batters and walked none.

Three relievers completed an eight-hitter to shutout the Mets consecutively against Atlanta for the first time since June 2021.

The Brewers defeated New York for the 17th time in the last 20 games in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee tagged Scherzer for eight hits and five runs in 5 1/3 innings.

The only other time the three-time Cy Young Award winner won three consecutive home runs was in July 2017 with Washington in Arizona when David Peralta, AJ Pollock and Jake Lamb went deep in the first.

It marked the first time Brewers batters launched three home runs in a row since August 8, 2018, when Jesús Aguilar, Travis Shaw and Eric Thames put up a performance against the Padres.
