A Tennessee man is taking his baby mama to court after claiming she tricked him into believing a little girl was his and forced him to pay child support.
Brett Fairley, 27, from Nashville, Tennessee, posted one now viral TikTok explaining that the woman, whom he called Maria Nguyen, had allegedly asked him to impregnate her because she wanted a child and had been “unlucky in love.”
Nguyen, whom he met in his hometown in Mississippi, told him he “didn’t have to take any responsibility” and could basically be a sperm donor, he claimed.
“At first I thought, ‘No,’ but after thinking about it for a while, I thought this would be the right thing for someone who was going through a hard time,” he said in the video.
The pair signed a “rock-solid agreement,” the 27-year-old said. After she successfully became pregnant through intercourse, he moved back to California, but his family stayed in touch with the expectant mother and encouraged him to be in his daughter’s life.

Nguyen (pictured on his TikTok), whom he met in his hometown in Mississippi, told him he “didn’t have to bear any responsibility” and could in fact be a sperm donor, he claimed
Prior to his daughter’s birth, he got a tattoo with her middle name “love” and flew home to be there when she arrived, he said.
After the birth, he said that Nguyen wanted to be a family and showed text messages between the couple, in which she allegedly said, “I want to try to make this work while we are a family? Can we do that? I want to be with you, Brett.”
He replied, “I’m sorry, but that’s not what I want to do.”
“That hurts,” she replied.
She later contacted him about needing a place to stay for two months while she worked to get her own place, and he let her live in his Airbnb “rent-free for several months.”
Fairley, who changes houses for a living, regularly came home to visit his daughter and was posted several times on Nguyen’s Facebook page, he showed in the video.
Things took a turn after Fairley refused to wear matching Halloween costumes for a year and “didn’t allow me to see my daughter for a while,” he claimed in the video.
The distraught dad had many arguments with his baby mama, who wouldn’t let him see his daughter at several points, including when he wouldn’t wear matching Halloween costumes and when he got a girlfriend.
She eventually forced him to pay child support, which allowed him to see his daughter more often
He eventually moved to Nashville and at one point drove fourteen hours each way to attend his daughter’s baptism, but Nguyen wouldn’t let him attend because he refused to see her the night before.
She then asked for child support, which required him to pay $10,000 upfront and $750 per month thereafter.
This allowed him to start seeing his daughter regularly, but things changed again when Fairley got a girlfriend, despite having a boyfriend herself, he claimed.
“When I offered Maria and my girlfriend to get to know each other so they would feel comfortable around my daughter, she immediately said no and called my girlfriend a word that rhymes with chore,” he alleged in the video.
Recently, he claims to have taken two paternity tests, which came back because he had no chance of being the father
Nguyen had wanted to be a family, he showed in text messages. He claims she must have known she was pregnant before she asked him to impregnate her
Nguyen then made a “public post” in which he called Fairley a “foolish father” and claimed he had not seen their daughter in weeks, despite claiming he had born the child days beforehand.
She also reportedly refused to allow the father to spend Father’s Day with his daughter.
After all the fuss, Fairley recently found out his daughter isn’t really his, he claimed, showing a paternity report claiming the child was “zero percent” related to him.
‘I don’t know who the father is, but I’ve had two paternity tests done and they both say [I’m not the father]he claimed in the five-minute video. ‘I believed Maria when she said I was the only possible father. The situation was strange, but I was always happy to be a father.’
Fairley is now taking his baby mama to court, claiming that ‘a friend of hers just gave me all the evidence I needed’
“Maria, for years I have allowed you to portray me as the villain and you as the victim to keep the peace,” he said, “but I hope you know that the only victim here is your child,” he concluded the video.
He claimed the woman already knew she was pregnant when she made the deal with Fairley and that the distraught father “didn’t think this was something anyone would lie about.”
“Maria, for years I have allowed you to portray me as the villain and you as the victim to keep the peace,” he said, “but I hope you know that the only victim here is your child.”
He captioned the video: “See you in court, Maria.”
Fairley claims that “a friend of hers just gave me all the evidence I needed.”
He also posted one video where the alleged Maria showed the crying mother claiming that his paternity test data was collected on August 10, 2024 and that she had it. He then showed a video on his phone of his daughter playing on August 10.
DailyMail.com has contacted Fairley for comment. Nguyen appears to have deleted her social media pages.
