Bret Baier denies MAGA claims Fox News interview with Kamala Harris will be edited

Fox News host Bret Baier is defending himself against preemptive concerns that the right-wing network will edit his interview with Kamala Harris.

But Donald Trump’s supporters have turned against the right-wing network in recent years and are not convinced the pre-recorded interview will air in its entirety.

Baier’s interview with the vice president will air on Fox News on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

“The only way she agreed to that is if she asked the questions earlier or you’re going to throw softballs,” one pro-Trump social media user wrote about Harris deciding to sit down with the network.

Fox News host Bret Baier was forced to defend himself against claims that the network favorably edited his interview with Kamala Harris — even before their sit-down aired

There was a barrage of criticism after an X user said it was “concerning” that Baier’s interview was pre-recorded and not live. They also urged the host to push back on Harris if she tried to duck tough questions.

“It will run as-Live – in its entirety,” Baier assured. “It was recorded because they gave us a time right before my show.”

“We plan to run it uninterrupted – and unedited,” he added.

A MAGA social media influencer also replied to Baier, “It would be nice if someone trusted you. We don’t. You do the 60-minute editing.”

They point to the controversy over CBS News posting an edited version of the 60 Minutes interview with Harris to portray the 2024 Democratic nominee in a more positive light.

Critics raised concerns that Harris’ interview is pre-recorded and speculated that it could be edited — but Baier posted to X that the interview will air “in its entirety.”

Trump joined Fox host Harris Faulkner for a women-focused town hall in Georgia that aired on the network hours before Harris’ interview

In particular, the editors deleted the VP’s “word salad” answer about US influence on the Israel-Hamas war to provide a more concise and clear answer.

The edit was published on the official YouTube page for the show after social media exploded with criticism over Harris’ incoherent and confusing response.

Since that amended version was posted, Trump and his allies have called on CBS to release a full, unedited transcript of the interview and the former president has demanded that the network’s license be revoked.

Harris’ interview on the conservative network airs hours after Trump’s female-focused town hall previously aired with Fox host Harris Faulkner.
