Brentford has agreed to sign Romeo Beckham for a year at Inter Miami.

The 20-year-old was loaned out to Brentford’s B team, but will now make the move permanently ahead of the new season in English football.

He played for Bees as they won the Premier League Cup and has done enough to earn a full-time contract.

Brentford is expected to pay a minimal fee for his services.

The move marks the end of Beckham’s stay with his father’s side as England legend David heads the MLS franchise.

Beckham started his career in Arsenal’s academy, but when he was released in 2014 at the age of 12, he admitted that he did not want to pursue a career in football.

However, he made his comeback in 2021, joining Inter Miami in America after his father got involved with the club.

Following the move, former Manchester United midfielder David replaced the tennis court on their land with a football pitch.

He played for Inter Miami II for some time before playing for the first team in a pre-season game.

He began training with Brentford in October 2022 and joined the club on a six-month loan deal in January this year.

The 20-year-old scored his first goal for the club in a Middlesex Senior Cup tie, before seeing the London campaign.

He will now join the team when pre-season begins in hopes of progressing to first-team involvement, with manager Neil MacFarlane telling Mail Sport he would love to work with Beckham after the end of the season.

Reports have suggested that Beckham was ready to stay in London to be closer to his girlfriend, Mia Regan.

“He’s been a crucial member of what has been a special group this year,” Brentford B boss MacFarlane recently told Mail Sport.

“A decision will be made about Romeo. I have no qualms about attaching my name to him – I want to help his development again… I wouldn’t have any problem with him staying here and we continuing his development at Brentford.’
