BREAKING NEWS: Mass shooting in Baltimore leaves dozens injured and several dead
A mass shooting took place early Sunday morning in Baltimore, Maryland, injuring dozens and leaving several dead.
The Baltimore Police Department confirmed that a large team of officers and medical personnel has responded to reports of gunfire in the 800 block of Gretna Court in South Baltimore’s Brooklyn Homes area.
The number of victims was not immediately given. Acting Commissioner Richard Worley was at the scene of the shooting, police said.
Witnesses told the station that hundreds of people had gathered for an event dubbed “Brooklyn Day,” WBFF-TV reported.
Bystanders told FOX45 News they heard 20 to 30 shots. “They went on and on,” they said.
A press conference with additional details was scheduled for later this morning at the intersection of 6th Street and Audrey Avenue, police said.
