Breaking: Explosion reported at Los Angeles correctional facility – multiple officers transported to hospital with ‘critical burns’

An explosion at a California correctional facility resulted in four deputies being taken to the hospital.
Around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, an explosion was reported at a mobile training facility at the Pitchess Detention Center, also known as the Wayside Jail.
The facility reportedly caught fire and trapped deputies as they qualified for their service weapons training, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The office described the fire as a ‘training accident’.
Four people were transported to nearby hospitals – by other deputies.

A mobile range reportedly caught fire with deputies inside as they qualified for their service weapons training.
Overhead footage showed fire trucks dousing the flames at the facility, which is located on the 29300 block of The Old Road in Castaic.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department also reported a fire inside a training facility and took up “defensive positions” in the area, according to radio traffic.
