After discovering the royal link, Bob quickly told host Henry that “I’m American. I’m not a monarchist.’
‘I don’t believe in that. You know, I feel like it’s a little bit twisted. I understand why society has built itself around monarchs and leaders, passing them on from generation to generation.”
“I understand that this goes through every society, every civilization. But I think we’ve gotten to a better place with democracy and we should continue on that path.”
Host Harry then informed the actor that he is an eleventh cousin of the current King of the United Kingdom, Charles III.
Laughing, a shocked Bob says, “I might change my mind about that.”
“Now you’re destroying your family,” Henry joked. ‘How they earn a living. You should be ashamed of yourself. You haven’t been royal for five minutes!’
The actor has been married to his wife Naomi for 26 years and the couple have two children, Erin, 22, and son Nate, 24.
Last year, Bob revealed that his daughter helped him recover from his 2021 heart attack.

He added, “where I could look up and see, ‘you had a heart attack, these people came to visit, then you came to, you had surgery.’ ”
Erin also took extra care of her father after he came home from the hospital, making sure he took his recovery seriously.
“Almost every morning you would wake up and try to get out of bed to go for a walk to finish shooting your scenes,” she recalls.
“That was a big part of the recovery, trying to get you to stay in the room and sleep and not go to work.”
Bob admitted that his heart attack is “something I think about every day.”
