Breach of Parliament's security: Conspiracy going on for two years, police tell court

Delhi Police on Saturday informed the Patiala High Court that the Parliament security breach conspiracy has been going on since last year and the newly arrested accused Mahesh attended all the meetings held in this regard in different cities .

Appearing before the Special Cell of Delhi Police, public prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh further informed the court that Mahesh was associated with the other accused for the past two years.

He was part of the conspiracy. He attended just about every meeting between them. He is actively involved in destroying a mobile phone and providing evidence to the main suspect, Lalit Jha.

The police further alleged that he (Mahesh) along with others wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they could force the government to fulfill their unjust and illegal demands.

Meanwhile, legal aid lawyer Suresh Sisodia (court-provided lawyer) opposed the remand plea, which originally sought 15 days' remand, saying the police did not inform the suspect about the reasons for arrest.

Mahesh Kumawat is the sixth accused arrested in the case.

After taking note of the comments, Additional Sessions Judge Dr Hardeep Kaur sent the accused to seven days' remand in the case.
