Shocking footage has emerged of a wild brawl at a fast food restaurant that was sparked by a group of women.

Chaos erupted on Saturday night at a Porto establishment in Brighton-Le-Sands, south of Sydney, after a young woman approached the counter and spoke to restaurant staff informing them that she was being followed, 7News reported.

Moments later others arrived and the blows began to fly in front of the horrified late night diners.

The fight broke out at a Porto shop in the Sydney suburb of Brighton-Le-Sands (pictured)

Two young women can be seen on CCTV exchanging blows before a man who was reportedly unknown to either of the women stepped in and tried to separate him while others also joined the fight.

Footage captured toppled chairs and people screaming in fear as the fight continued.

Many customers also filmed the ordeal on their mobile phones and posted it on social media.

The man who tried to calm things down angered others who thought he was trying to inflame the situation and had been too harsh on a woman wearing a headscarf.

A man (in the center of the photo with his back to the camera) tried to break up a fight between two women.

The man (pictured) yelled at people to get away from him, pointing at them and saying ‘Move, move’.

Her headscarf flew as he threw her to the ground to protect the other woman.

He also yelled at people to get away from him, pointing at them and saying, ‘Move, move.’

Although another customer took issue with the man who intervened, tensions finally began to cool.

Police are now investigating the footage to determine if brawl charges will be brought against any of those involved.
