San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is embroiled in contract negotiations with his current team and is out to get what he thinks is his due.

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie year and is projected to make $14.124 million this season.

The Arizona State receiver has been a reliable weapon in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense – something the wideout is aware of and wants to feel the impact in his wallet.

“I’m trying to get what I deserve,” Aiyuk said. “I feel like this season, this football season, I discovered who I was as a person and as a player, what I bring, what I bring to the locker room, what I bring to the organization. And exactly the value I cherish when I walk into that building.

“People will follow me because I’ve done it the right way since I’ve been in that building. From the first day I walked in there until I got there earlier this morning. I did it the right way.

‘If they don’t see the value in that (making a walking motion with the hands), then that’s it. It’s nothing more than that. I can’t go into it.

“We have professionals working on both sides, so hopefully we can reach a professional agreement and continue playing professional football.”

Aiyuk led the 49ers in receiving yards last season with 1,342 and seven receiving touchdowns.

It was his second straight season of over 1,000 receiving yards.
