Brandi Glanville is taking medication to treat suspected ‘parasitic infection’ that’s caused her facial disfigurement

Brandi Glanville gave an update on how she plans to treat the symptoms of her suspected parasitic infection, which may have caused her facial disfigurement.

On Friday, the reality star, 52, made the announcement during an interview with Page Six Virtual Reali-Tea podcast that she is taking antibiotics again.

She explained that after noticing her face starting to ‘sag’, she started the medication again after a break.

‘I prefer [my face] if it’s a little swollen, to be honest,” she explained. “If it’s only swollen on one side, it’s not great.” But the breakdown is slowly killing me because I just feel like I look like a crackhead.”

At this point she noted that she “so desperately” wants answers about her condition and doesn’t “know” if there is a parasite in her face or what is causing her symptoms.

“You could do whatever you want to me, and I would be fine with it,” she said. ‘I’ve had days where I looked normal, not weeks. I wish. But it comes and goes.’

Glanville stated that “the right side of” her face was so swollen over the weekend that it looked like she had “a very large meatball on the right side” of her cheek.

“Anytime I get chills, it’s usually an infection,” she continued. ‘Then I got the tapping in my ear, and whatever was moving around in my face started moving around again. And it’s starting to sink in again.’

The ordeal has also affected her mental health and her ability to socialise. She says that “it’s hard to hide at Christmas when everyone is having their parties.”

‘It’s depressing. It just hurts my brain and my heart,” she admitted. ‘The pain is more mental than anything because I have been hiding and going through a deep, deep depression. Even if I could work right now, I wouldn’t be able to right now. So it’s been a very tough two years for me.’

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills alumna — who previously revealed she had been diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema — shared a photo last week of her looking unrecognizable, mainly due to her deflated, mottled cheeks.

Months earlier, she had the opposite problem when she shared a photo of herself with significantly swollen cheeks.

Dr. Dubrow had told TMZ last week that he didn’t think it was a “parasite,” but that he thought her disfigured skin and sunken cheeks were likely the result of an infection.

The plastic surgeon stressed that Glanville’s condition could be a ‘ticking time bomb’ and had urged her to seek help from her doctors as soon as possible.

On Friday, the reality star, 52, revealed during an interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast that she is back on antibiotics

The cosmetic surgeon – who is married to Real Housewives Of Orange County star Heather Dubrow – said he was “concerned” that Glanville could be suffering from an “infectious process” or a “foreign body reaction to something she had injected.” ‘

Dubrow also clarified that Glanville is not “at fault” because he wasn’t sure what was plaguing her, and instead blamed her doctor for not having a solid diagnosis and treatment plan.

However, he seemed pretty sure that what was wrong with her was “not a parasite” and “didn’t come from anything she ate.”

Instead, he suggested the problem was “something that entered her bloodstream and seeded a foreign body.”

Surprisingly, Dubrow even thought it was possible that Glanville would get ahead of her doctors, saying she could be right when she said she might have to have surgery.

He noted that she may have been infected with mycobacteria or fungi, which could be “very difficult to treat.”

Also on Friday, Brandi shut down any rumors that both she and Dubrow were feuding after he expressed concern about her face.

Dubrow seemed particularly concerned when he said Glanville’s condition was “like a ticking time bomb” as the potential damage could become increasingly serious in a short time.

He added that antibiotic treatments for mycobacteria or fungi can last six to 12 months, so it would be essential for her to get a solid diagnosis and possibly a skin sample to determine what she was suffering from.

Dubrow concluded the interview by offering the services of himself and his Botched costars.

A day later, Brandi debunked all rumors that both she and Dr. Dubrow had an argument – and explained to X that they had already been in ‘contact’.

“I have no drama with @DrDubrow. I appreciate all the help I can get. we have been in touch and plan to talk, thanks for all the love.”

She then revealed to her followers: ‘All the fillers that were in my face have dissolved. I saw the best doctors at Cedar Sinai, and all the doctors they referred me to.”

The cover girl also spoke to Entertainment tonight‘s Brice Sander on her recent problem with her face.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills veteran told Brice she thought it could be a potential facial parasite from Mexico.

During the interview, actor Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife said she treated it with a “cell sound procedure” and the help of Dr. Nicholas Nikolov.

She previously claimed she had stress-induced angioedema and said she had lost five teeth.

‘I’ve been taking medication all year. I don’t socialize. “I don’t date and I just spend all my money trying to figure out what’s wrong with me, over $70,000,” she told ET.

Glanville went to the hospital to see several doctors.

“Honestly, I’ve had so many doctors and so many tests…I’ve had lab work done for $10,000. I’ve run every test under the sun…. It could be a parasite that’s, you know, new.”

Brandi thinks she knows how she contracted the potential parasite.

“I mean, we had food sitting out for hours and some of it was meat. In Morocco,” she offered.

‘Six months after I came back from [filming in] Morocco, I started getting this talking thing and the swelling thing, it started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out.”

Earlier this month, she shared a photo of her puffy complexion over the summer.

She wrote on X: ‘What happened? I wish I knew that I have been in and out of the hospital this past year. I’ve spent almost every dollar I have trying to find out.

‘Some doctors say I have a parasite jumping around my face. Some say it is stress-induced edema. Personally, I say it’s Bravo.’

Earlier this year, Brandi took to Twitter to blame the network for her “stress-induced angioedema,” which she said left her unable to work.

She wrote on X: ‘I read that I was not punished for the false accusations in Morocco. Um, I was fired, removed from the cast who were held hostage in a hotel in Morocco for days! The cast that sided with me did not want to continue without me.

‘Because of the bad and untrue press I have been cut from all jobs.

“I have no choice but to sue Bravo. I have four days’ worth of receipts. This stress has ruined my health. I have angioedema due to uncontrollable stress. I haven’t worked in six months. I’m too depressed to do my podcast to swell 4cameo or OF. I’m being used as Fallguy.

“I SO desperately WANT to tweet all my receipts but my lawyers won’t let me. I appreciate all your support more than you know. MY CAST FROM MOROCCO IS SO AMAZING AND SUPPORTIVE. I LOVE THOSE GIRLS! (sic)’
