Bradley Lowery: Man, 31, charged with public order offense after ‘photo of six-year-old cancer victim held up during Sunderland match’
A man has been charged with a public order offense after a photo of six-year-old Sunderland fan and cancer victim Bradley Lowery was held up during a football match.
Shocking footage showed a supporter displaying the image during the match between Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland at Hillsborough on Friday evening.
Dale Houghton, 31, from Rotherham, was arrested yesterday and has now been charged with a public order offence.
Houghton has been remanded in custody and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, South Yorkshire Police said in a statement.
A 27-year-old man, who was also arrested yesterday, has been released on bail while further investigations are carried out.
