Bradley Evennett: Man allegedly killed in backyard MMA fight is identified as his martial arts ‘mentor’ is charged with murder
A man who was allegedly killed by his MMA mentor during a botched sparring session has been remembered as a ‘gentle giant’.
The body of Bradley Evennett, 32, was discovered by police on Georgina Ave in Melonba, near Mount Druitt, at around 8.45pm on Friday.
Police will allege that Mr Evennett arrived at the home of his friend and mentor, Bradley Fletcher, 38, just hours before a sparring session in which he is believed to have died.
Fletcher is then said to have driven to Georgina Ave and dumped Mr Evennett’s body in a bush before crashing his car and being arrested by police.
He was charged with murder and was formally refused bail at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

A relative of Mr Evennett revealed that the two men had been long-time friends and that Fletcher had taken the alleged victim under his wing because he was new to MMA.
“He was a gentle giant… we don’t understand this and don’t know how it could have happened to him,” the relative told the family. Daily telegram.
“…Brad was a nice person.”
Neighbors told the publication that Fletcher had only moved into the house that same day and had seen people arriving for the sparring event.
His home on Annan Ave is just 700 meters from where Mr Evenett’s body was found by a mother and her two children, who reported the incident to police.
Crime scene investigators were seen at the home on Sunday as the investigation continues.
CCTV footage from the street shows a black car leaving the scene.
Shortly afterwards, officers were alerted to a collision involving a parked car where the driver had failed to stop.
Police determined that the car was used to take the victim to the street where he was found.
