The actress was just days away from making her debut on the Café Carlyle show when she “slumped her head against the wall” and suffered a grand mal seizure outside L’Artusi restaurant in New York.
The Blue Lagoon alum explained that the grand mal attack happened because she drank too much water before her show and had low sodium levels.
“I was waiting for an Uber. I go to the bottom of the stairs and apparently start to look funny, and [the people I was with] They were like, “Are you okay?” she told Glamour.
‘I walk into L’Artusi restaurant and go to the sommelier who has just taken an hour to watch my run-through. I go in, two women come towards me; I do not know them. Everything starts to go black.
‘Then my hands fall to my sides and my head hits the wall. I’m starting to have a grand mal seizure.
“It means foaming at the mouth, all blue, trying to swallow my tongue. The next thing I remember is being loaded into an ambulance. I’m on oxygen. And Bradley f*****g Cooper is sitting next to me holding my hand.”
Brooke said Bradley, 48, was called after the waiter at the restaurant could not reach her husband Chris Henchy. An assistant knew Bradley was in the area and the Hollywood actor headed straight to L’Artusi.
“His assistant called Bradley and said, ‘Brooke is on the floor. Chris isn’t there. Go get her.” And he came, and someone called the ambulance. And then it was like walking in with Jesus,” she said.

Once in intensive care, Brooke said she felt “stuck” after doctors inserted a catheter and IV.
Brooke said doctors told her she had too much water and wondered if she had cut salt out of her diet — something she vehemently denied because she wasn’t on some “crazy actress” diet.
Brooke said the doctor’s advice was to have more salt in her diet.
The actress subsequently recovered and presented her one-woman show debut on September 12.
