Brad Pitt REFUSES to drop lawsuit against Angelina Jolie after she ‘painted herself as a peacemaker’ in desperate bid to have him end bitter legal battle over Chateau Miraval

Brad Pitt will not drop his lawsuit against ex-wife Angelina Jolie, who tried to portray herself as a “victim” in a desperate attempt to force him to end their bitter legal battle over Chateau Miraval, insiders say.

Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 49, are embroiled in a dispute over their co-ownership of the idyllic French winery, which they bought in 2008. The actor has sued his ex-wife for allegedly selling her half of her wine to him for $67 million in October 2021 without his consent.

Later, they got involved in a fierce mudslinging over the NDAs, which have become a major battleground in their struggle.

Jolie is now asking Pitt to “end the strife” and drop the lawsuit against her so their family can “heal.”

Sources have exclusively told DailyMail.com that the Fight Club star has “no intention” of quitting, claiming that Jolie only filed after realizing her case wasn’t as strong as she previously thought.

“Brad is not going to drop this lawsuit — why would he? This was a very standard business dispute, but unfortunately Angelina has consistently brought in personal elements that are meant to be heard in divorce court,” the insider said.

“Angelina asks him to stop the fighting as if she is a peacemaker. This is nothing more than portraying herself as the victim. This is not a fight. This is a business dispute over the sale of real estate that would ultimately go to their children. It was their inheritance, and she knows it.

‘She realizes that she no longer has a strong case and she also knows that she will probably have to pay the money by order of the court.

“Bringing very personal issues into a business lawsuit backfired on her. It exposed the weaknesses in her case and complicated matters for both parties. She didn’t have to do this.”

Another source close to the matter refuted the claim that it is a “simple business dispute”, adding: “Pitt is the one suing Angelina, but he somehow thinks he can say she is fighting him. She is the one who says they need to focus on healing their family and that he needs to stop his relentless attacks on her, but he refuses.

“Suing her for $67 million for refusing to sign a nondisclosure agreement covering up his abuse is not a ‘simple business dispute.’

“All Angelina wants is peace, but he is determined to keep fighting her and blaming everyone but himself for the situation he is in.”

The estranged couple, who met in 2004 while filming Mr. And Mrs. Smith and tied the knot in 2014, have six children together: sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 16, and daughters Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne, 16. They filed for divorce in September 2016.

The estranged couple, who met in 2004, have been embroiled in a dispute over their co-ownership of the winery since 2021 and have become embroiled in a mudslinging match over the NDA’s nondisclosure agreements.

Pitt accused Jolie of breaching the purchase agreement, which stipulated that she could not sell to a third party without giving the other party the right of first refusal, when she sold her 50 percent stake in Chateau Miraval to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021.

The actor, who is now in a relationship with model Ines de Ramon, requested the sale be annulled and claimed damages and legal costs, but on October 5, 2021, the agreement was approved.

When the then-couple purchased the 1,200-acre winery and estate, Pitt took a 60 percent stake and Jolie a 40 percent stake.

Pitt invested millions in the company, capitalized on the rosé trend and expanded the business, increasing sales by 300 percent.

Soon, the estate they purchased for an estimated $60 million was worth nearly $164 million.

At the time of their marriage, Jolie had “stopped investing,” according to previously filed court documents — something she denies.

However, in December 2013, Pitt transferred 10 percent of his share to her as a wedding gift “for the sum of 1 euro” [never paid]’ so that at the time of their marriage in August 2014 they were 50% equal partners.

Jolie claims she backed out of their arrangement because Pitt asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement as part of their business deal, which allegedly prevented her from speaking out about the abuse allegations, including the September 2016 incident aboard the private jet. Her team described it as an “unconscionable” attempt by her ex-partner to “control” her following their split.

A source close to Pitt later told People, “Brad requested a mutual nondisclosure agreement and to refrain from making any insults strictly related to Miraval, due to concerns over sensitive financial information and brand protection, which is customary in these types of transactions.”

Pitt, who is now in a relationship with Ines de Ramon (pictured), is not only angry about the way Jolie sold her share, but also because the house ‘would ultimately be for their children’

His legal team alleged that Jolie used the NDAs as a “weapon” and six months later asked Pitt to sign a more extensive NDA as part of divorce settlement talks.

In a ruling made public in May, Judge Lia Martin ruled ordered the actress to produce all nondisclosure agreements she had proposed herself or had been proposed to her by others, regardless of whether they were final or approved.

Earlier this week, Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, said: “When Angelina once again asks Mr. Pitt to end the feud and finally put their family on the path to healing, unless Mr. Pitt drops his lawsuit, Angelina will have no choice but to gather the evidence necessary to refute his allegations.”

Recent documents filed on Pitt’s behalf in opposition to Jolie’s latest request include a list of evidence she has sought to obtain.

This includes ‘any therapy in which [he] voluntarily consented to his work from September 14, 2016, through December 31, 2018, his alcohol use from 2008 through 2021, his random drug and alcohol testing after the flight, communications with various government agencies regarding the flight, and confidential documents from the parties’ divorce case.’

“These requests are not intended to discover relevant evidence, but rather to embarrass Pitt and/or prejudice the trial court, which is not permitted under California evidentiary law,” the documents state.

The estranged couple’s eight-year divorce, which has left them at odds over custody of their children, is not yet finalized. They are legally single.
