Brad Pitt narrowly avoided an awkward encounter with ex-wife Angelina Jolie when he arrived in Venice, just days after she attended her premiere in the city.
The 60-year-old actor looked like a Hollywood star as he arrived at the International Film Festival alongside his co-star and friend George Clooney, 63.
The A-listers were photographed looking their best as they arrived by water taxi to the premiere of their film Wolfs, which screens at the festival on Sunday evening.
Angelia’s film – Maria – premiered Thursday night after she recently hinted at the heavy emotional toll her divorce from Brad would take has taken her over.

Angelia’s film, Maria, premiered Thursday night after she recently hinted at the emotional toll her divorce from Brad has taken on her.
Brad’s arrival comes after artistic director Alberto Barbera revealed that he and Angelina were strategically scheduled to avoid any risk of clashes.
He told Vanity Fair: ‘Angelina will be there on the first day, Thursday, August 29, and she’ll be leaving right after that to go to the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado.
“So Brad isn’t arriving until Saturday. There’s no way they can cross paths at the Lido.”
According to Page Six, neither Brad nor Angelina made the request, but the event was “wise enough to realize it.”
Brad originally arrived on Saturday with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, but he was joined by George on Sunday ahead of the screening.
Brad looked cool as usual in a light blue jacket, which he wore with matching pants and a white T-shirt with aviator sunglasses.
George meanwhile looked stylish in a white shirt with a grey suit. He wore stylish sunglasses.

The stunning stone chiffon gown, designed exclusively for the actress by designer and couture house Tamara Ralph, featured draped details and a short train. The ensemble was finished off with an elegant, fluffy faux fur stole and a gold flower pin.
The beauty divorced her movie star husband Brad after a controversial incident on a plane in 2016.

She has said in court documents that he attacked her and several of their six children, throwing wine and beer on the family in anger. He has always denied being violent toward her or the family.
Angelina spoke her words during a photo shoot to promote the film Maria at the film festival, in which she plays opera singer Maria Callas.
When asked about her taste in music, she said, “I was more of a punk and I liked all music, but I probably listened to The Clash more than most.
‘As I got older I listened to classical music and opera. I think I still like the music I listened to when I was younger, I still listened to The Clash.
“But I think that when you’ve felt a certain level of desperation or pain or love at a certain point, there are only certain sounds that can match that feeling. And for me, the enormity of the feeling that’s captured in the sounds of opera, nothing can match that.
“That feeling that would touch us all if we heard it, would be the only sound that could explain the pain. That’s why I’m leaning more toward it now.”
She reflected on the film’s premiere on Thursday and the release of Without Blood, which she co-produced, next week at the Toronto International Film Festival, marking her return to her film career, which has largely been on hiatus since her split from Pitt.
Jolie said: ‘Honestly, the last few years I’ve felt a greater need to be home with my family.’
‘In that time, I’ve maybe become more grateful for the opportunity to be an artist, to play and be among you, and just be a part of this creative world that we’re all lucky enough to be a part of.
“I’m glad I’m here and I’m grateful that I get to be an artist in whatever way I can.”
