Boy George’s manager Paul Kemsley has warned the singer could be a ‘bit of a control freak’, but he’s hopeful the star won’t kick off on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Paul, 55, appeared in This Morning on Wednesday, where he described Boy George, 61, as a ‘contradiction’ who liked to be managed but hated being told what to do.

The hitmaker has already clashed with Charlene White on the show, as she dominates camp cooking.

When asked if Boy George would kick off, Paul said, “Probably. I mean, we’ve had early signs of it.

He joked, “I mean, there was a terrible trauma – undercooked mushrooms, big problem.

“The problem with George is that he gets over it very, very quickly. So he has to get out, he has to talk to someone and if he has that voice, he’ll get over it.’

When Holly Willoughby asked him if Boy George has a problem with authority, Paul said, “Not really, he’s one of those contradictions.

“He loves being managed and I tell him what to do and then he hates me telling him what to do, which makes it very difficult.

“But I don’t think it’s anything with authority, I think he just has opinions, emotions, feelings and needs to get them out.”

He added: “Listen, it’s so hard to watch, when you love someone as much as I love him.

“And I’m sitting here thinking, 4 weeks ago he performed in front of 100,000 people and now he’s a water tank half drowning.”

Convinced him: Paul added: 'I persuaded him, I'm a terrible manager. What have I done? Guy is a global icon and I put him in a jungle!'

Speaking of the cooking drama, Paul explained, “He cooks a lot. He likes to cook. He’s a bit of a control freak, he likes to be in control.

“But he’s a nice, nice guy and he really likes meditation and breathing and he’ll get through it. It’s very early doors, I mean he got into a big state emotionally, he was scared before going.

He revealed: ‘And there was a run-up where he didn’t. He doesn’t like surprises and there are a lot of surprises in the show.”

Discussing Matt Hancock’s entry into the camp, Paul said George would have no preconceived notions about the MP.

He said, “I’m not saying he won’t start,” but he will definitely meet him first and have an opinion. In other words, he will not have a preconceived way of treating anyone.

“I think he can understand, he’s been in the public eye for a long time. He’s a nice guy, he certainly has his opinion and there are certain topics that we’ll see the reaction to if Matt Hancock touches on something that doesn’t apply to George.

“But I think he’s going to give him a chance, I’d be surprised if he didn’t.

“I hope he doesn’t kick off, he has this image, but he doesn’t really. He’s a really calm boy, I have a lot of hope.’
