Little boy trapped inside claw machine in Capalaba shopping centre, Brisbane

A three-year-old boy has been rescued from an arcade-style claw machine after the boy crawled up through the prize machine.

The toddler, Ethan, was with his family at the Capalaba Shopping Centre, southeast of Brisbane, on Saturday afternoon when he climbed into the machine.

Police were called and managed to smash one of the glass panels, freeing the little boy, who was taken away unharmed.

His father said it only took Ethan a few seconds to crawl into the glass box as his mother watched frantically as she held her baby.

Queensland police said the three-year-old was “in no hurry to get away”.

Footage showed Ethan, who was wearing a Power Rangers t-shirt, playing with the stuffed animals in the machine as his concerned family and police discussed the best way to get him out.

Officers and his father told him to move to one side of the machine and cover his eyes before they destroyed the panel.

An officer then lifted the child safely out of the machine, with Ethan even getting to choose which toys he wanted to take home.
