Boy, 4, struck and killed by school bus in parking lot
A four-year-old boy was tragically struck and killed by a school bus in Wisconsin on the first day after the holidays.
The unidentified boy was hit around 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Silver Spring Intermediate School in Lisbon, about 25 miles outside Milwaukee.
The toddler was transferring to a shuttle bus to the Willow Springs Learning Center when the accident occurred.
The bus, operated by Dairyland, was carrying students at the time and the driver was said to be cooperating with authorities, police said. WISN.
Willow Springs parent Waleed Edoud said his five-year-old son was standing directly in front of the victim at the time and was almost hit.
“I don’t know what happened, but during the transfer my son said that the boy sitting behind him was hit by the bus and it just missed him,” Edoud told the outlet.
‘He’s shocked. He’s just under five years old… My child was just a few steps away from the real one.’
Edoud said he hates the morning transfer and his son is escorted to the shuttle bus by a high school counselor.

“My kids come home every day and complain about these bus drivers,” the father said.
Edoud said he is going to stop letting his children board the bus Fox 6.
‘They should just stop with this transfer thing. That’s it,” he told the outlet.
Another parent said they “call and complain, but we keep getting rejected.”
The bus operator said: “We extend our deepest condolences to the student’s family, friends and the Hamilton School community.
“Dairyland-Hamilton is fully cooperating with local authorities as they investigate this tragic accident, and we are in constant communication with our district partners.”
The school district closed classes Friday.

“Our student services team immediately started working with students and employees in various buildings this morning and will continue to provide support during this difficult time,” Fox 6 said in a letter from the district.
The police are still investigating the accident.
A prayer vigil for the victim will be held at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church on Friday at 7 p.m.
