A 13-year-old boy was trapped in a claw machine at a North Carolina amusement park.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday at Carowinds Park in Charlotte.
The boy climbed into the Cosmic XL bonus game with the intention of stealing a prize.
Photos from the bizarre site were shared on Facebook by the Carowinds Fans Only fan page showing the boy clearly sitting in the machine while surrounded by staff members, a deputy sheriff and curious onlookers.
Park officials sprang into action to rectify the situation and convened a medical team to deal with the problem, which was able to save the boy a short time later.

The boy was seen sitting in the machine while surrounded by staff members, a deputy sheriff and bystanders.
The boy received first aid before being handed over to his guardian.
“The safety and security of our guests and employees is Carowinds’ top priority,” park officials continued.
The Cosmic XL bonus game is about 2 meters long, almost 1.5 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep, making it much larger than the average claw game.
No charges have been brought against the boy for his actions, but he is banned from visiting the park for a year as punishment.
A similar incident occurred in February 2018 when a young boy attempting to retrieve a plush toy from a claw machine at a Florida restaurant ended up being trapped inside.
On that occasion, firefighters helped free him from the claw game.
