A 12-year-old boy is left fighting for his life after he was hit by a car along a popular tourist route ahead of the Easter long weekend.
The boy was hit by a Toyota Prado on Caves Road in Marybrook, in the south-west of Western Australia, about 5.40pm on Thursday.
It is understood that the child may have been crossing the road.
The 12-year-old was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital with serious injuries and his condition was considered critical.

Caves Road is a scenic 111km coastal route south of Perth and normally attracts heavy traffic during breaks such as the Easter long weekend.
Major crash detectives are investigating the incident.
