A one-year-old boy died and three other children were hospitalized Friday after an incident at a New York daycare.
The as-yet-unnamed child died Friday afternoon at the Divino Nino Daycare at 2707 Morris Avenue in Kingsbridge.
The cause of death and serious illness has not yet been determined, although one possible line of inquiry is that the children “ingested fentanyl.” Sources report this to the New York Post.
The children reportedly ate dinner around 1 p.m. and took a nap, but when it was time to wake up at 2:30 p.m., several were unresponsive, ABC News reported.
A two-year-old boy and a girl between seven and nine months old were taken to Montefiore Medical Center. A fourth child was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

On Friday afternoon, an infection tent can be seen cold outside the daycare center
Firefighters and police arrived on scene and entered the daycare wearing breathing apparatus, as the crew initially believed they were responding to a carbon monoxide leak.
The remaining children are expected to survive, authorities said Friday.

This theory has now been dismissed as the cause and on Friday afternoon a contagion tent outside the daycare center caught a cold.
The daycare, which cares for children between six weeks and twelve years old, only opened a few months ago, says a neighbor told ABC news.
The daycare operates out of the basement of the building where the woman lives, the neighbor told the outlet.
