Boxing legend Jeff Fenech has revealed what it was like to be at his good friend Kyle Sandilands’ lavish celebrity wedding in Darling Point this weekend – although it wasn’t the most extravagant one he attended.

Sandilands, 51, married his fiancé Tegan Kynaston on Saturday in a spectacular wedding ceremony in Sydney, reportedly costing $1 million.

Around 130 guests watched the couple tie the knot, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim and the four-time world boxing champion.

Fenech and Sandilands have been close friends for many years and the ‘Marrickville Mauler’ was honored to attend the event along with his wife Suzee.

“It was great, the whole thing,” Fenech recalled News Corp.

“The speeches were great, shrugging and talking to the Prime Minister was very special.

“When Kyle does things, they’re big. The property was out of this world. I have so many phone numbers of everyone who performed to use for my future parties.”

Fenech, who has been to countless celebrity weddings over the years, including that of billionaire businessman James Packer, wouldn’t say it was the fanciest ceremony he’d been to.

“But no one does it like Kyle. He doesn’t make anyone feel bigger or better than anyone else,” Fenech said.

“He mingled with everyone. I ate a few margaritas, so I have a little headache this morning, that’s for sure.

“For me, life is about memories. You cannot take your houses or cars to the cemetery. Dancing last night with my wife Suzee and sharing a beautiful moment is a memory I will take with me.’

Sandilands recently recalled the time Fenech asked him to help in one of champion boxer Vic Darchinyan’s fights by standing in his corner.

It was 2006 and the radio star was in the US with Fenech as Darchinyan prepared for his world title fight with Freddie Roach trained Diosdado ‘Prince’ Gabi.

Fenech tasked Sandilands with placing Darchinyan’s crutch in the ring once the rounds were finished.

“It was my first and only time in the corner, I made a fatal mistake,” he said on the Standing Eight Podcast.

“When it was time for everyone to go to their corner, Jeff turns around and says ‘The crutch, the crutch, brother!” Sandilands said.

“And I’m sitting there going, poor Vic, waiting to sit down, and then I realize I’m sitting in the asshole’s seat.”
