Boxing great Jeff Fenech targeted by car thieves in shocking home invasion at his Sydney property: ‘If I came down they were in trouble, brother!’

A pair of brazen thieves broke into Jeff Fenech's Sydney home overnight in a bid to steal the Australian boxing legend's luxury cars, leaving his family absolutely 'terrified'.

The four-time world champion, wife Suzee, daughter Kaylaa and boyfriend were sleeping in the Five Dock house when burglars broke through a laundry window at around 4am on Tuesday morning.

Fenech told Ben Fordham from 2GB that the thieves were looking for keys to the family's cars.

“It's scary and very terrifying,” Fenech said.

'We woke up early this morning and saw the police doing their work.

Two thieves were then arrested in a nearby park and the keys to the cars were recovered

“We found out that the people they were chasing had already robbed our house.

'We were lucky. The police did a great job and they stopped them.”

The intruders stole the keys to all of The Marrickville Mauler's cars, including two Audis, a Mercedes and a Lexus

Police and forensics were at Fenech's home on Tuesday morning to conduct further investigations.

'These thugs were walking down the street and saw an Audi, a Merc and another nice Audi. They saw my house and then came through the side and broke through the laundry room window while standing on a chair,” Fenech said. News Corp.

“When I came down (from the upstairs bedroom), they were in trouble, brother. No one comes to my house.'

The men were reportedly apprehended in a nearby park and the keys to Fenech's cars were collected.

“There is a video of them hiding behind our wall when my daughter's boyfriend walked out of the house,” Fenech said.

The former world champion boxer says the thieves would have been in trouble if he had discovered them in the act

“We don't know what else they took, we're going through it all now. I know they have two boys in custody now.

'My wife and daughter are shocked. All this makes me feel sick. It's scary for my family, and for me too, it's not good.

“They're idiots, they're in trouble.”
