Boxer Jermall Charlo charged with DWI four months after allegedly crashing his Lamborghini SUV and fleeing the scene in Texas

Boxer Jermall Charlo has finally been charged with driving under the influence, which led to his car crash in May.

The 34-year-old is facing charges of driving under the influence, collision with vehicle damage and leaving the scene of an accident, according to online records from Brazoria County, Texas.

According to agents, Charlo’s blood alcohol content was nearly twice the Texas limit of 0.08 when he was arrested on May 6.

The former two-division champion was driving a red Lamborghini Urus when he was involved in a collision in another video around 6:40 p.m., a Pearland police spokesman told DailyMail.com at the time.

A new model of that Lamborghini SUV costs around $240,000.

Charlo is said to have fled after an altercation between him and another driver.

When authorities attempted to arrest the boxer, he reportedly ignored their sirens until police cornered him at a red light about a mile from where the collision occurred.

Officers said they arrested Charlo at the scene and that he showed signs of intoxication when a breathalyzer test was administered following his arrest.

Charlo holds a perfect 33-0 professional record with 22 wins by knockout. He last saw the squared circle in November when he fought Jose Benavidez Jr to a unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, his twin brother Jermell is 35-2-1 (WLD), with his most recent loss coming to Canelo Alvarez in September.

In November, Jermall spoke openly about his battle with drugs, alcohol and mental health issues during an interview with the New York Post.

“Depression, self-aggrandizement and the rapid change from heat to cold are shocking to you,” he described the ordeal.

‘I couldn’t see that some people weren’t against me, it was just that that’s how you feel at that moment and I kind of turned away from the world. I just had to get help for it and that’s made me a lot better.’

Jermall and Jermell’s relationship also deteriorated during this time, but the two have said they are now trying to repair the situation.
