Boston’s sanctuary city rules allowed illegal immigrant Haitian rape suspect to be RELEASED back into the community ‘after he sexually assaulted a disabled victim’

Boston’s progressive “sanctuary city” laws allowed a Haitian man who allegedly came to America illegally to be released, despite being arrested for rape and indecent assault of a developmentally disabled person.

Pierre Lucard Emile, 31, is the suspect in question, according to multiple Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

When Boston immigration officials demanded he be detained after charging him for being here illegally, a district court judge denied his request.

Due to the city’s sanctuary laws, requests for ICE detention are often ignored. In 2022 alone, Boston police have failed to honor 100 arrest requests, police said Boston sphere.

The city’s Trust Act, passed under Democrat and former Biden administration official Marty Walsh and endorsed by current progressive Mayor Michelle Wu, prohibits city agencies from cooperating with certain ICE requests.

Boston’s progressive “sanctuary city” laws allowed Pierre Lucard Emile, 31, a Haitian man who came to America illegally, to be released despite being arrested for rape and developmental sexual assault.

Todd M. Lyons, director of the ERO Boston Field Office, claims the court is standing in the way of allowing ICE to protect the city.

“Disturbingly and despite our request for immigration detention, this individual was released back into the community by the criminal court,” he said. Fox news.

“The men and women of ERO Boston continue to protect the community from those who pose a real public safety threat to our communities,” Lyons added.

Emile arrived at the port of entry in Brownsville, Texas, where he was declared inadmissible and ordered to appear before the DOJ’s Office of Immigration Review in Boston, according to ICE.

Just nine months later, he was arrested for rape, sexual assault and battery on a developmentally disabled person.

He was held in a non-ICE detention center in Boston for two months before being released on November 8 with an electronic monitoring device.

ERO Boston, which handles immigration crimes in the region, arrested Emile in Dorchester on January 9 after being tipped off about his migrant status.

Emile remains in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before a DOJ immigration judge, while charges are still pending in a local criminal court in the rape and sexual assault case.

“We remain strongly committed to protecting community residents by arresting those who are not lawfully present in this country and pose a threat to public safety,” Lyons said. “This remains a central part of our mission.”

Boston, like other Democratic-run metropolises with “sanctuary city” laws, has seen large numbers of migrants brought to the city by red state governors.

In November, some were forced to move to Boston’s Logan Airport as the “sanctuary city” ran out of beds to sleep in.

The party of up to 20 people, including babies, were seen sleeping under blankets on couches.

They arrived in Boston as the Massachusetts shelter limit reached its maximum and there is an impasse over how best to spend $250 million on emergency shelters.

Massachusetts has a right-to-shelter law that requires it to provide housing for the homeless, but Gov. Maura Healey warned the state is running out of space.

Migrant families have been sheltering at Boston Logan International Airport as the city continues to grapple with a surge in demand for shelter.

People slept on couches with blankets over their heads and mothers were seen holding their children in the airport terminal.

The migrants are said to have arrived on a flight from San Antonio, Texas, and their belongings were strewn across the floor.

Governor Healey, a Democrat, warned others considering going to Massachusetts that there is no more room.

“Massachusetts right now, destination-wise, winter is coming, it’s going to be cold, we just can’t promise you a bed,” she said.

Texas has sent more than 95,000 migrants to sanctuary cities across the country, Governor Greg Abbott has revealed.

The Republican posted on X two weeks ago announcing the success of his program to transport illegal immigrants to Democratic-run cities.

He said his initiative has led to the transfer of nearly 100,000 migrants to cities like Boston — where liberal leaders like Wu are forced to find them shelter.

“Reserve towns like NYC and Chicago have seen only a fraction of what overwhelmed Texas border towns experience on a daily basis,” Abbott wrote.
