The Hawks sent the NBA playoff series to a sixth game in the first round after winning on Tuesday-evening.

The sixth matchup was to be played on Thursday night – the same time and location as Jackson’s scheduled concert.

Tatum and Co. clinched their place in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and face off against the Philadelphia 76ers with a 128-120 win in Atlanta on Thursday.

“I want to apologize to the legend Janet Jackson,” Tatum said TNT post game.

“We were closing in Boston and she had to postpone her show. I hope she sees this. Sorry about that.’

Jackson played multiple shows at the arena and had already played once on Wednesday. That meant her crew had to set up the stage, tear it all down again, and then reassemble it for a Friday night show before packing it all up on Saturday.

Tickets for Thursday’s show were refundable and transferable, allowing fans unable to attend on Friday to adjust their schedules.

Jackson’s show on Friday unfortunately coincides with a show Taylor Swift plays at Mercedes-Benz Stadium – less than 300 yards from the State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta.

The Celtics are now on their way to the second round of the playoffs, where they face the Philadelphia 76ers, who beat the Brooklyn Nets.
