A young man was left terrified after two strangers armed with a gun stole his car in a violent robbery in south-west Sydney.

The 29-year-old man was driving on Prairie Vale Road in Bossley Park when he stopped to make a left turn around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

The two men got into the Mazda 3 sedan and demanded the driver get out.

The police will allege that when he refused, one of the men drew a gun.

The men got into the Mazda and drove away, forcing the terrified driver to stop another vehicle and call the police.

One of the men has been described as Caucasian in appearance, 170 to 175 cm tall, with a slim build, short brown hair, and wearing an earring.

The second man is also Caucasian and is 170-175 cm tall and slim.

Investigators with the City of Fairfield Police Command have urged anyone who may have dash cam footage to contact police.
