A small plane with two people on board crashed near an elementary school shortly after take-off.

The plane crashed into trees near Terone Park on Garnet Street at Bossley Park, in Sydney’s west, at around 2.30pm on Thursday.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene to treat the occupants of the plane. They were not seriously injured.

The couple refused to be taken to hospital.

The park is located near the Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School.

According to Flight Aware, the plane took off from Bankstown Airport at 2.23pm and crashed approximately five minutes later.
