Boomer unleashes at young Aussies in live radio meltdown
A veteran radio presenter has condemned teenagers attending Schoolies celebrations for refusing to ‘get pissed off’ during the week of heavy partying.
Baby boomer Mick Molloy, from Triple M’s Mick & MG in the morningcriticized the ‘little bastards’ who chose to stay sober on a night out.
‘What happened? What happened to our great country with its great traditions? Children are beaten in the North, a rite of passage,” the host said.
‘And suddenly: no, no, we don’t want that anymore.’
Molloy noted that the number of arrests and drunk and disorderly incidents had fallen during this year’s Schoolies celebrations.
“This should be a month full of Vodka Cruisers and Bacardi Breezers. And what I hear is nothing,” he continued.
‘And what I compare it to, of course, as all of us older people do, is to the good old days.
“Nothing is as good as when we were walking around.
“But if these little bastards refuse to get angry when they get a free ride in return, I’m telling you, this country is done.”

Aussies shared their thoughts on Schoolies’ drinking habits in the comments.
‘I’ve certainly spoken to a lot more 18-year-olds who don’t want to drink. It feels like in 20 years it will be considered smoking,” one person said.
“All new Schoolies are pussies,” wrote a second.
A third said: ‘The prices are crazy though, most of these kids spend $1,000 on hotel and flights/taxis, and then it’s another $200 a night on drinks and food.’
“Isn’t everything said about schoolgirls good though? Less arrests, not a lot of drinking, disorderly teenagers running amok?’ said a fourth.
Others shared boozy memories of their own Schoolies weeks.
“2003 Schoolies were off the chain, glad kids are a little more excited than us,” one person commented.
“Schoolies 2017, it’s one I’ll never forget, but also one I can’t remember,” said another.
A third wrote: ‘I slept on the streets at Schoolies in 2016 lol.’
