The Aussie sisters behind Booby Tape, Bianca and Bridgett Roccisano, have spoken candidly about their incredible journey from broke stylists struggling to afford gas, to running a multimillion dollar beauty empire.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last week, the couple discussed their lavish lifestyle, plans to take over America and Europe, and the sexism they’ve experienced navigating the business world.

They also addressed the recent controversy over Booby Tape’s safety after angry customers complained that the product caused them painful chest injuries, with the sisters insisting that this only happens if you don’t follow the safe removal steps.

Their must-have beauty product, sold in more than 50 countries, has been the subject of several complaints on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram, with some users of the “breast lift in a box” claiming to have had cracked skin and infection.

“It’s like any other product: we just tell you to follow the instructions,” Bridgett said.

‘We always try to keep everyone informed’ [of] how to take it off, make sure you don’t wear it for too long, don’t sleep in it, all those things,” she added.

Bianca also stressed that only an “incredibly small percentage” of customers have had a bad experience with the product.

The Melbourne sisters became self-made millionaires after launching their $21.95 chest tape that promises to “lift every bust” in 2018.

The TikTok complaints were a minor setback for the Roccisano sisters, who have now moved away from the controversy and are looking to the future, including taking on America.

The pair, who started out as celebrity stylists in Melbourne in 2010, shared how broke out of college students who stuffed $5 worth of fuel into a Volkswagen Jetta went on to become multimillionaires.

“We were completely broke,” says Bianca, who studied law at university.

“Bridgett and I sat down and I thought, ‘We’re not doing it anymore. We have to take care of ourselves. We don’t have any money, so what kind of business can we start?'”

Their business journey began with the launch of clothing label Bianca and Bridgett, followed by Booby Tape, which now has annual sales of $10 million.

Bridgett said the idea for Booby Tape came from the fact that the sisters were “both big-breasted women” who sometimes “close down” their wardrobes out of necessity.

“I remember going to the races for a year and I wanted to wear this low-cut backless dress and I couldn’t do it because I would have to wear a bra for support,” she said.

Bridgett started using electrical tape and duct tape before trying to find a breast-specific tape, only to realize there was none on the market.

‘I jumped on the computer, searched it, and there was no such thing. Then Bianca said, “I don’t believe that,” so we looked it up and decided something had to be done,” she added.

Their simple idea blossomed into a multimillion-dollar business empire, culminating in the sisters celebrating their success with a $700,000 party in LA.

The event was to launch their Stas x Booby Tape Illuminating Bronzer, in collaboration with American influencer Stassie Karanikolaou, who is friends with Kylie Jenner.

The party was attended by the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio and Charli D’Amelio, and there were performances by YG and Bia.

Bianca now counts Alessandra, Adriana Lima and Rita Ora as buddies. The two sisters are also friends with Victoria’s Secret model, Shanina Shaik.

‘You pay natural talent to come’ [to your party]. They get paid to come for 20 minutes, but if they stay for five hours, you know you’ve done a great job,” she said.

Despite their huge success, the ladies still describe themselves as ‘fugal’ and say their only major releases have been Cartier jewelery and matching Range Rovers.

“All we wanted was a Cartier Love Bracelet,” Bianca said. “So we made this rule that we would treat ourselves if we turned over our first million dollars.”

Cartier Love Bracelets cost between $6,000 and $10,000.

“We forgot, but one day while we were at work, I thought, ‘Bridgett, we’re going straight to Cartier. Do you remember the deal we made?’

Bianca and Bridgett also spoke forcefully about the sexism they had encountered in the male-dominated business world.

“Absolutely, we’ve faced it,” Bianca said, adding that “people assume we must be stupid” because of their glamorous public image.

They said they had men try to “stand over us” when negotiating factory space, with Bridgett noting, “Every day is just something different.”

“What we’ve been through, it’s been incredibly tough as women,” Bianca said.

The two women have now started a consultancy to help other women become entrepreneurs. “We want everyone to do well,” Bianca added.

The corporate sisters also just signed deals to stock Booby Tape in Germany, the United States and South Africa.

“We’re going to a lot of the big stores in the United States, so Booby Tape will grow quickly over the next year,” Bianca said.

“We just closed a big deal for all of Germany. So there are about 7,000 stores that Booby Tape is going into there right now.

“We’ve also done Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Middle East and today we’ve done 1000 stores in South Africa.”

The sisters know the bigger they get, the more work it becomes for them.

Bridgett and I are insanely busy. In our company, we work in multiple time zones, so we’ll wake up around 5 a.m.,” Bianca said.

“Emails and phone calls are already waking us up.”
