Teddi Mellencamp’s affair drama with her married horse trainer has taken a surprising turn.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, announced her divorce from Edwin Arroyave earlier this month after 13 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children.
After it turned out that Mellencamp and Simon Schröeder had a ‘month-long affair’, DailyMail.com can reveal that Schröeder’s then-wife, Karli Postel Schröeder, filed in 2023 to have their marriage annulled on the grounds that he was legally married to someone else.
Documents Karli filed in Ventura Superior Court in January 2023 show that she cited bigamy as a reason to declare their marriage legally invalid.
They will marry on November 18, 2019.

After it emerged that Mellencamp and Simon Schröeder had a ‘month-long affair’, DailyMail.com can reveal that Schröeder’s wife Karli Postel applied to have their marriage annulled in 2023 on the grounds that he was legally married to someone else (Postel and Simon pictured )
In an amended petition for nullity of marriage filed on November 6, 2023, Postel checked the box “previously existing marriage or domestic partnership” as the reason for her request for annulment.
The judgment to annul their marriage was filed on February 29, 2024. It is not known who Simon was married to.
Mellencamp and Schröeder carried on their affair after his and Postel’s marriage was annulled, but because Postel was pregnant with their second child, who arrived around May 2024.
This comes after an insider claimed to DailyMail.com that the reality star and Schröeder were messing around behind their husbands’ backs before she filed for divorce.
Making matters worse, the couple was in Florida together while Schröeder’s pregnant partner Karli was in California giving birth to their second child.
“Karli found it suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was in labor,” the source told DailyMail.com.

The source claims that Teddi decided to file for divorce after she became involved in the affair.

“I’m totally obsessed with you Toady baby boy,” she wrote alongside a video of her horse in the competition. “You did everything I asked of you. Thanks for making my first time in the @devon1896 ring in 25 years a dream.
“I feel so blessed that you are mine. Thank you to @simonschroeder85 for the excellent rides on him earlier this week and to @schroedersporthorses @windsong2121 for everything you did to make this show possible.”
Just twelve weeks ago she again praised Schröeder and Schroeder Sporthorses – a ‘Hunter, Jumper and Equitation training, sales and investment show stable’ – and thanked him for the ‘wonderful rides’.
“Thank you @Schroedersporthorses… for always being team Toad,” she wrote. ‘I am eternally grateful to you for selling me the nicest horse I have ever ridden.’
DailyMail.com reached out to a representative for Mellencamp, but they had no comment.
Postel also said no comment, while Schröeder declined to comment when contacted.
Mellencamp and Arroyave are reportedly feuding over their spouses’ support during their contentious divorce battle.
On Friday, Arroyave filed his response to Mellencamp’s divorce petition and reportedly reversed her requests for custody and spousal support.

In his petition, Arroyave requested that Mellencamp be the one to pay him spousal support and asked the court to terminate their ability to award her any support.
Referring to their prenuptial agreement, he stated in his response: “The premarital agreement of the parties contains the conditions regarding the amount and duration of spousal support to be paid.”
Arroyave also checked both of their names to pay their attorneys’ fees after Mellencamp requested that Arroyave be solely responsible for all legal fees.
Arroyave also alleged that the marriage contract provided that “all assets, income from all sources, and liabilities of each party shall be his/her separate property, except as specifically provided therein.”
And contrary to the reality star’s filing, Arroyave listed the official divorce date as November 1, while Mellencamp claimed they split on October 20.
Mellencamp is the daughter of famous singer-songwriter John Mellencamp.
