The jury has been discharged in the trial of cricketer Stuart MacGill, who fought allegations he facilitated a $330,000 drug deal.
Mr MacGill stood trial at Sydney’s Downing Center District Court after pleading not guilty to one charge of participating in the supply of a large commercial quantity of a banned drug.
The Crown prosecutor has alleged he played a role and facilitated the deal, which involved a drug dealer known as Person A and his partner’s brother.
Mr MacGill’s defense told the court the former cricketer had no knowledge of the drug deal and received no benefits.
The jury had heard three days of evidence.
On Friday, Judge Nicole Noman told the jury that the case had been dismissed.

She gave the jury her reasoning for making the decision, but that cannot be reported for legal reasons.
“I have decided that you should be fired, so that concludes your involvement,” Noman told the jury.
“I notice that you have been involved in this matter, so I apologize.”
Mr MacGill will now appear in court again at a later date, with the case due to return to court on Monday, with a new jury selected.
