Bombshell poll shows Kamala Harris within striking distance of Trump in deep red state

Kamala Harris is closing the gap with former President Donald Trump in Iowa, new polls show.

The Des Moines Register and Mediacom Iowa poll, released Sunday, found Harris trailing her Republican rival by just four points.

Perhaps even more shocking is that the poll was conducted from September 8 to 11, just days before Trump’s debate with Harris. Much of the media is convinced that Harris won.

This comes after Trump won the same poll in the same state by nearly 10 points in 2016, and again in 2020 by more than 8 points.

Both times, the poll turned out to be a prediction: the Republican Party frontrunner won the swing state by a narrow margin.

Barack Obama is the only Democrat to win the Iowa presidential election since Al Gore in 2000.

Since Tom Harkin was swept aside by the two-term president in 2008, no Democrat other than Obama has won a statewide election.

The poll is considered elite and was named best in class by FiveThirtyEight in 2016.

A June poll showed President Joe Biden trailing Trump by as much as 18 points, a gap that appears to have closed as candidates change.

While Trump’s lead is still outside any margin of error, the woman conducting the poll says it’s not a good sign for the former president.

‘I wouldn’t say 4 points is comfortable [for Trump]’, said pollster J. Ann Selzer, president of Selzer & Co., who conducted the Iowa poll, Des Moines Register.

“The battle has become considerably more exciting.”

Selzer claimed the results “indicate a change in the mood of the electorate” since Harris entered the race.

A poll by DailyMail.com found that Harris won the debate and appeared the most presidential, while Trump was considered the most aggressive.

One positive sign for Trump, besides the fact that he still leads the race, is that the poll was taken before Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s election results were announced.

RFK Jr. polled at six percent, while Libertarian Chase Oliver polled at one percent.

Now, new polls from Yahoo News/YouGov shows the vice president with a five-point lead over Trump among registered voters in a head-to-head race.

A poll of 1,755 US adults conducted between September 11 and 13 found that 50 percent of people said they would vote for Harris, while 45 percent said they would vote for Trump.

Harris trailed Trump by nine points among independent voters — 35 percent to 44 percent — ahead of the debate. The new poll now has her leading that bloc by 10 points, 47 percent to 37 percent.

While national polls show Harris leading, a new poll in the crucial swing state of Michigan points to warning signs for the vice president as he seeks to secure the so-called Democratic “blue wall.”

According to InsiderAdvantage’s poll, Donald Trump has a one-point lead in the state.

The GOP candidate is at 49 percent and Harris is at 48 percent, indicating an extremely tight race in the state that Democrats must win to take the White House.

The InsiderAdvantage poll was conducted among 800 likely voters on September 11 and 12, following the presidential debate.

Trump confirmed in a lengthy post on Truth Social that there will be no rerun of the vice presidential debate.

And now the race is getting even more chaotic after the FBI investigated a second assassination attempt on Trump in Florida on Sunday.
