Shoppers have taken to social media, saying store clerks told them the closure was due to a suspicious package.

One person said a ‘sealed suitcase with lots of zips’ was left in front of the Coles supermarket.

Police would not confirm the nature of the security threat.

The public is now allowed to return to the mall.

More to come.
