Boeing Scandal: Another Whistleblower Dies; suffered a sudden infection

Joshua Dean, the second whistleblower in the Boeing scandal, died on Tuesday at the age of 45, according to media reports.

Dean, a former quality auditor at Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems, suffered “a sudden and serious lung infection.”

He was one of the first whistleblowers to raise concerns about Spirit management’s oversight of manufacturing defects in the 737 Max. He had recorded his observations, including improperly drilled holes in the aft pressure bulkhead, a critical component for maintaining cabin pressure.

According to media reports, Dean fell ill with respiratory problems more than a fortnight ago. Despite receiving intensive medical care, including treatment with an ECMO machine, he battled for several days before dying.
