Bodybuilder and YouTube star Park Seung-hyun who admitted to using drugs dies aged 35

South Korean bodybuilding YouTube star Park Seung-hyun died on Sunday at the age of 35, with his brother sharing the news of the death due to “health reasons” on Park’s social media.

Park had previously admitted to using steroids and also had more than 830,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Park’s brother announced the death with a framed photo of his brother surrounding several flower wreaths.

“On January 5, 2025, 3:51 PM, my brother Seung Hyun went to heaven for health reasons,” the post said. ‘The feelings of the parents are not accepted, we do not take advice. May you rest in peace with a heart of comfort.”

“May his soul rest in peace,” some comments read.

Parks latest Instagram post at his own expense was that he was flexing during a biceps workout.

His post ended by saying he was “feeling very lonely.”

Park’s family has not released any further information about what specific “health reasons” led to his death.

The South Korean’s popularity was partly due to his admission of steroid use, trying to raise awareness about the amount of drugs used in bodybuilding.

In a video posted three months ago, Park opened up about some of his struggles over the past few years.

“I have battled depression and received psychiatric treatment,” Park said. ‘Financial problems have arisen because I have not been able to continue my YouTube activities. I feel lonely even though I shouldn’t. I will find my way back to myself and return one day.’

Park took a break from social media, then returned to posting content for the last month of his life.
