A body language expert has revealed that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson looked “distant” and “unnatural” during their last public appearance together, as news emerges that the couple have split.
A source confirmed to DailyMail.com on Friday that the 47-year-old Coldplay singer and the 34-year-old actress have called off their engagement after seven years together.
UK-based body language expert Judi James has been analysing the couple’s interactions since they were last photographed together and noticed some tension between the two.
The two stars were last seen together while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in February.
Photographers captured them splashing in the water and enjoying the sun on the beach.

Although it looked like they were having a great day together from the outside, Judi said the Madame Web actress appeared “distant” towards Chris in many photos.
“Dakota’s body language makes her appear distant in some poses, while Chris sometimes looks at her with concern,” Judi said.
‘Their tactile behavior does not look easy and natural.’
Judi noticed that at one point Chris tried to grab Dakota’s hand, but she held it behind her back so he couldn’t grab it.
“And when their hands touch, they seem to miss the moment for a hug,” Judi continued.
When the two stars finally joined hands, Dakota seemed to resist, according to Judi.
“When Chris takes her hand in what appears to be a firm, loving grip, he pulls her hand toward him, but she appears to maintain the distance between them, reaching out with her arm instead of moving closer,” Judi added.
‘Dakota’s gaze appears distant in some of the photos, while Chris looks at her face with an expression that may be concerned.’
Judi also explained how their beach date ensembles may have been a clue to their impending breakup.
“When their hands fall together, they seem to miss the moment for a clamp,” Judi noted

The brunette beauty opted for a tight, white swimsuit, while Chris wore loose-fitting swim trunks.
“Their visual appearance is different. Dakota’s simple white swimsuit shows off her stunning curves perfectly and she moves with total confidence,” said Judi.
‘Chris seems to have opted for wide, skinny pants here, which look less romantic.’
The couple, who began dating in 2017, were first rumored to have split in May after Chris gave a female fan a lift, who later posted on X that the singer was “single.”
A month later, however, a source told People that things were still “going well,” adding, “They’ve had their ups and downs, but they’re back in the game now.”
But an insider told DailyMail.com that they briefly split earlier this year.

‘They’re both busy people. Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments that don’t necessarily intertwine.
“They wanted it to work, but it didn’t. Now they’ve accepted that it’s better to move on.”
