A man’s body has been discovered in a local park as police investigate the grim discovery.
Officers were called to the park near Upper Ormeau Road in Kingsholme, on the Gold Coast, at around 5am on Monday.
The man has yet to be identified.
A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia the man was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Gold Coast Acting Chief Inspector Jason Tuffley said the man was found unconscious at the scene.
“When QAS arrived he was pronounced deceased,” Supt Tuffley said.
“(I’m) not aware of any injuries to him.”
Police have not yet determined whether the man’s death is suspicious.
