Body found washed up at Haywards Beach, Bermagui
- Body of a man, 60, found
- Was missing since last week
The body of a man who went missing last week when his empty boat washed ashore has been found.
The body of the 60-year-old Victorian man was found in the water at Haywards Beach in Bermagui, on the NSW south coast, about 5.30pm on Monday.
His boat washed up empty on the same beach last Tuesday, prompting a massive search of surrounding waters and land.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the man's identity could not yet be confirmed but it was “believed to be that of the missing man”.
The search for the 60-year-old involved the Marine Area Command, Surf Life Savers, State Emergency Services and the Westpac Helicopter, but was called off after two days when he could not be found.
More to come.
