Body found at Bogey Hole in Newcastle as police recover body

A body has washed up on a popular beach in New South Wales.
Emergency services were called to the Newcastle Bogey Hole after reports that a body had been located at about 4pm on Wednesday.
The body was found at the base of cliffs south of the popular swimming spot, which is about 100 miles north of Sydney.
It is clear that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police, paramedics and the Toll Ambulance helicopter were sent to the scene at about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
A helicopter crew member was hoisted to the foot of the cliffs to assess the situation before the body could be safely recovered.
It is still unclear whether the police have identified the body.
