Two newborn babies were found dead in a garbage bag at a Chicago daycare center.
A cleaning crew found the two girls in a bathroom on the campus of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Streeterville around 7 p.m. yesterday.
A woman was also found at the center and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was treated for unspecified injuries.
“Chicago police are conducting a death investigation after two newborn girls were found dead in the bathroom of a daycare center in Streeterville,” the police said in a statement.
Dispatchers told responding officers the babies were in a garbage bag. The kids weren’t breathing when the first responders arrived.”

Yesterday, a cleaning crew found the two girls in a bathroom at the facility, which is part of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital campus.
The girls were taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
“Area Three detectives are conducting the investigation, which was initially classified as a danger to the life or health of children,” police said.
“A medical emergency occurred tonight involving a childcare worker at the on-campus nursery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital,” a Northwestern Medicine spokesperson said. FOS 32.
“No children from the daycare were involved or affected by the situation. The Chicago Fire Department and Police Department were called. We are working with CPD regarding this incident and are unable to comment further at this time,” they added.
A police investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested at this time.
