US promoter Bob Arum has hinted that Tyson Fury could earn around $200 million for his undisputed heavyweight championship fight with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

It was announced on Friday afternoon that Fury and Usyk have agreed terms to put all world titles on the line during the winter window – with the historic fight set to take place on December 23 or later in January.

The announcement came as a shock to boxing fans around the world as Fury – who fights Francis Ngannou on October 28 – had halted talks about an uncontested fight a week earlier.

The Gypsy King told Mail Sport he was only interested in fights that were financially rewarding and said Usyk was ‘not making it’ due to the language barrier.

However, Arum has now revealed that Fury will earn more than $100 million dollars – with reports claiming the 35-year-old’s salary will be closer to $200 million for the uncontested fight.

Speaking to the media, Arum said: ‘If you told Tyson Fury he was going to make $100 million, he would be really angry because he thinks – and I think he’s right – he’s going to make a lot more than that. .’

According to reports, Fury could earn around $200 million for the fight, which will see the Gypsy King of Usyk become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, and the first in the four-belt era.

Nevertheless, the fight announcement comes as a shock as Fury told Mail Sport he had no interest in fighting Usyk for the undisputed title. Instead, the Gypsy King said he wanted to participate in more crossover battles.

Speaking to Mail Sport, Fury said: ‘No, I’m not interested in fighting Usyk. He is a small Ukrainian dosser. That’s all he is to me. No interest in uniting the divisions. It means nothing to me.

“All this stuff about uniting and whatever, it really doesn’t mean anything to me. I’m looking for the biggest payday. Usually Usyk doesn’t make it.

“He’s just a foreigner who doesn’t speak English very well, so you can’t really sell him. I’m probably looking for another American. Probably looking to fight Jon Jones in a boxing fight.’

When asked if he was bothered by the criticism he had received for turning down a fight with Usyk, Fury said: “Haters gonna hate. I’m getting a bag. I also get a big bag. So I won’t feel bad about cashing my check.

“I don’t care if I eat ice cream and marshmallows all day while drinking Pina Coladas.” I don’t think, ‘What about those boxers?’ and all that stuff.

“So yeah, haters gonna hate. Everyone who is famous has haters. I’m sure Van Gogh had his haters too, but I can’t name any today, so that goes to show. We’ll be fine.’
