Boat explosion on Murray River sends 16-year-old girl and an elderly man to hospital with ‘serious injuries’
A teenage girl and an older man have been rushed to hospital after a boat explosion on the Murray River in South Australia.
Emergency services were called to Paisley, about 100 kilometers north of Adelaide, just before 12.15pm after witnesses reported seeing the boat explode near the river’s edge.
It is understood that both the teenager and the 69-year-old man suffered burns to the lower body, with at least one suffering ‘serious’ injuries.
SA Ambulance said they sent a rescue helicopter to take the patients to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
