Boarded up: James Corden’s £8 million home that was invaded by trespassers is a sorry sight

Boarded up: James Corden’s £8m home… As the star prepares to return from the UK, the sorry state of the mansion which was invaded by intruders

He is about to return to the UK after an eight year spell in the US.

But it’s unlikely that James Corden will be moving into his sprawling country home any time soon.

His £8m estate has been vacant for two years and now looks derelict, surrounded by unkempt gardens.

The 1960s-era home, which has a striking curved design, was boarded up after intruders posted dozens of lurid images online, as well as a video ‘tour’.

Couple: Corden, 44, who has three children with wife Julia Carey, pictured, paid £2m above the asking price for the 1960s-era home.

The images, believed to have been taken last year, show an empty indoor pool and a high-end retro interior covered in dirt and grime. The yard is overgrown and electricity is said to work only in parts of the property.

A CCTV system was installed after the footage surfaced online and the gates to the sprawling property are now covered with signs to deter trespassers. One says ‘dangerous area’ while another warns that the police are using the private land for dog training.

The house, which has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a tennis court, sits in 43 acres of parkland near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

TV presenter Corden, 44, who has three children with his wife Julia Carey, paid £2m on top of the asking price. The house is only a few miles from his modest boyhood home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

A neighbor who did not want to be named said: ‘We used to know the previous owners very well many, many years ago. But I never see anyone there anymore. They have put a door that was not there before. Before, you could just drive in.

The property also includes Grade II listed druid stones, relocated from Jersey in 1788.

Adventure: Corden recently told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: ‘I love where we live. I love being in Los Angeles, but we always knew it was an adventure and not the final destination.’ Pictured: Corden on The Late Late Show

The Gavin And Stacey star, who is worth an estimated £50 million, sold his home in Belsize Park, north London, in April 2021, months after buying the property.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and has since hosted The Late Late Show for CBS. But friends of his have discussed plans for him to return to the UK “to be closer to family”. He now plans to sell his £8.37m home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, and leave his hosting job in the spring.
