Blur’s Damon Albarn has revealed that he has “poured money into reforming Oasis” after his own rock band announced their reunion tour.
The 1980s band – consisting of Alex James, Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree – called it quits in 2015 and announced their reunion news last year.
And now the singer, 55, has predicted that another iconic band is about to get back together, giving them competition.
Speaking of Oasis, Damon shared The sun: ‘I can guarantee that they will reform. In fact, I put money on it.
“They’re brothers and it would be great if they reconciled.”

Damon believes the Gallaghers’ relationship will have “changed dramatically” since the announcement of Noel’s impending divorce.
It was revealed in January that Noel is divorcing his wife Sara MacDonald after nearly 12 years of marriage.
Oasis sensationally broke up in 2009 after a backstage bust – which devastated their loyal fan base.
In the 14 years that followed, a toxic feud and bitter fighting ensued with the brothers trading back and forth insults in interviews and social media.
In March 2023, Liam insisted that an Oasis reunion is ‘happening’ 14 years after the break-up of the iconic band.
The former frontman of the group is convinced that he and his estranged brother and guitarist Noel will put their years of feud behind them and take the stage together once more.
In response to a Twitter follower asking what the chances are of the Britpop group getting back together, he replied, “It’s happening.”
Noel recently admitted he’ll never say never at an Oasis reunion: “You should never say never, [but] it would require an extraordinary set of circumstances.
“That’s not to say that those circumstances would never arise.”
The Champagne Supernova hitmaker was then asked how he and Liam are doing these days, to which he replied: ‘Oh, brilliant, yes. Sincerely, yes.
‘He [Liam] apparently took a year off to find herself.”

On Thursday, Blur announced that they will release their next album The Ballad Of Darren within a few months.
It comes eight years after the rock stars released their latest hit album The Magic Whip.
The Ballad of Darren will compromise 10 new tracks, with the first track, The Narcissist, out now.
Speaking of the upcoming songs they’ve created, Damon said, “This is an aftershock record, reflection and commentary on where we are right now.”
Graham added: ‘The older and crazier we get, it becomes more important that what we play is loaded with the right emotion and intent. Sometimes a riff isn’t enough.’
Band member Alex said, “For a long term relationship to last with any meaning you have to be able to surprise each other in some way and in some way we all continue to do that.”
While Dave said, ‘It always feels very natural to make music together. With every record we make, the process reveals something new and we develop as a band. We don’t take that for granted.’
The Ballad of Darren, produced by James Ford and recorded at Studio 13, London and Devon, is the band’s ninth studio album.
The band surprised Steve Lamacq on his BBC Radio 6 Music show on Thursday, telling the presenter they started back in the studio in January and finished this week.
